Local fresh food for everyone

Life on High is a specialty coffee and pro-plant cafe, with a wholesome and sustainable menu, priced fairly.

Our menu will balance nutritious plant-based dishes - vegan and vegetarian - supplemented with carefully selected local meats, dairy and responsibly sourced fish. We will champion in-season, organic and locally grown produce from trusted wholesale suppliers and home-grown heritage cultivars (after the rabbits, butterflies, snails and footballs have taken their cut).

Our coffee is from individual farms and cooperatives. Expert tasters travel extensively throughout the great coffee belt - from Colombia, Brazil, through Ethiopia and Kenya, to Sumatra, visiting the producers and working with farmers to ensure the highest possible quality green beans (for which we pay a premium price). We have a small-batch coffee roaster on site, driven by Redback Coffee's roasting excellence.

We will try to minimise our environmental footprint though our menu (working hard to make delicious alternatives to meat), buying local produce, using renewable electricity and greener gas, recycling packaging, and composting our vegetable food waste. Please feel free to support us in this, and challenge us to do more.


Our story (the short version)

Anna lives in Sevenoaks with her husband Dan and three school-age kids, all having recently returned from 7-year adventure in Asia. She is passionate about wholesome, nutritious food and is excited to be bringing high quality vegan and diet-tolerant choices to the High Street - look out for the Eastern influences in the salads especially.

Keith and his family (Belinda, two boys and two bonkers rescue dogs) also live locally. He is a coffee nut, who fell in love with specialty coffee while working on climate change policy in Hong Kong, starting first a cafe and then a craft roastery - Redback Specialty Coffee with two Australian coffee experts. Redback will be guiding, training and imparting roasting know-how in the cafe here too.

Carl and  Katie live locally in Riverhead. Carl a local born chef started his career at the prestigious Connaught Hotel whilst it held its 2 Michelin stars

Carls talents have been recognised this year becoming a finalist in Kentlife Chef of the Year!

Together with his wife, they are now instrumental in the management of the food team and development of evening events.
